ENGL 116 — Authors of the Theatre
Authors of the Theater surveys the history of theater and playwrights from Classical Greece to the present. Students cover the history and theory behind the production, direction, set design and composition of plays from the beginnings with the works of Sophocles, Euripides, Menander, Aeschylus and others to its development through the Renaissance with the works of Shakespeare and Cervantes and into more modern productions within contemporary theater. Prerequisite: ENGL 101.0 or 101H with a grade of C or better. Crosslisted with TA 116 .
