MATH 109 — Preparation for Calculus
The course covers the basic algebraic and trigonometric tools used in the study of calculus, including: the use of properties of exponents, logarithms, radicals, and rational expressions to simplify algebraic expressions; the concept of slope as it relates to linear equations and real-world situation; solving, graphing, and analyzing polynomial, rational, radical, logarithmic, exponential, and trigonometric equations and functions; and solving systems of equations and inequalities. The course also covers principles of trigonometry and trigonometric identities. Additionally, students will explore conic sections and apply the fundamental concepts of sequences and series. .
