Students will develop an understanding of English grammar fundamentals, including parts of speech, compound/complex sentence development, capitalization and punctuation, and usage problems as a key for effective communication. Students will also increase their skills in writing, using a variety of methods of development. The writing process, including pre-writing, drafting, and revising, is practiced throughout the course. Course emphasis is on writing letters, minutes of a meeting, process paper, persuasive essay, and job application, resume and cover letter.
