ECE270 — Observation and Assessment
4 Credits Through participation in the shared process of observation and documentation students gain a broader perspective and deeper knowledge of teaching and learning. Documentation and reflection of children and their work provides an understanding of how children create meaning. The Prospect Descriptive Processes provide a framework for collaborative assessment and the family perspective is considered. Students will prepare to enter the field as early childhood professionals. Prerequisites: ENG 101-Ready and READ 105-Ready; Final grade of C or higher in both ECE 170 - Early Childhood Development and ECE 171 - Foundations of Early Childhood or permission of the department Corequisite: ECE 271 - Early Childhood Practicum 1
