3 Credits This course examines the historical, philosophical, social and cultural influences on education in the United States. Students will consider the role of the teacher in creating classrooms in which children are encouraged to think deeply and critically. Students will develop a personal philosophy of education and a set of values for working with children and families. Prerequisites: ENG 101-Ready and READ 105-Ready
