3 Credits This course introduces the student to the basic principles of pathophysiology and pharmacology. Core concepts include functional changes that occur in all body systems in response to injury or disease, diagnostic tests, treatment strategies, drug terminology, bodily and adverse effects, precautions and contra-indications. Students learn about commonly used drugs in clinical practice with emphasis on their prescription for specific diseases. Prerequisites: HIT 110 - Health Sciences 1 (with a grade of C or better)
