HIT250 — Professional Practice Experience 1: Coding

2 Credits Students practice authentic coding using industry standard software programs via V-lab to apply current knowledge of ICD-10 principles and guidelines. Apply knowledge of CPT-4/HCPCS coding as well as demonstrate an understanding of E & M levels. Students will also gain experience in practicing for the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) national coding credentialing examination through the CCA simulation exam. Prerequisites: HIT 150 - Advanced Health Information , HIT 220 - Medical Coding/CPT 4 and HIT 230 - Advanced ICD - 10 (all courses with a grade of C or better)
