3 Credits This course covers maintenance, compilation, analysis, and presentation of healthcare statistics and research protocols and techniques. Topics include basic statistical principles, indices, databases, registries, vital statistics, descriptive statistics, research protocol monitoring and knowledge-based research techniques. Upon completion, students should be able to apply, interpret, and present healthcare statistics and utilize research techniques to gather and interpret healthcare data. Pre or Corequisites: HIT 260 - Health Information Technologies (with a grade of C or better if taken as a prerequisite)
