ENGL - 2900B Special Topics in Literature: Villains, Heroes/Heroines, and Antiheroes/Antiheroines ENGL - 2900B Special Topics in Literature: Villains, Heroes/Heroines, and Antiheroes/Antiheroines The course investigates the origins of heroism and villainy and emphasis is placed on the various heroic codes both as literature and as embodiments of popular visions, ideals, and desires. Students will explore how the characteristics of heroes, villains, and antiheroes have transformed throughout centuries and investigate the relevance of these concepts in contemporary culture and film. Students will develop skills to critically read and interpret complex artistic works in their historical and cultural contexts. Lecture Classroom Hours: 45
