BIOL 366 - Clinical Medical Imaging I BIOL 366 - Clinical Medical Imaging I (6-13 credits) This course introduces students to the imaging sciences. Students will define the medical imager’s role within healthcare organizations and identify additional career opportunities within the imaging sciences. Patient care skills relevant to the scope of medical imaging will be identified. The medical imager’s ethical responsibility to their profession, institution and the diverse patient population will be defined in this course. Legal considerations regarding the health information management and medical law as it pertains to medical imaging will be examined. Professional attributes demonstrated by medical imagers will be defined. Imaging analysis for routine examinations will be emphasized. Concepts learned will be applied to the lab and clinical environments. In this course students will demonstrate general patient care skills in a simulated environment. Students will manipulating medical imaging equipment, set the correct technical factors and properly positioning for designated imaging examinations. In this course students will identify pertinent anatomy and evaluate medical images to identify positioning errors. Grade only. each semester.
