BIOL 438 - Clinical MRI III BIOL 438 - Clinical MRI III (15 credits) This course is a continuation of Clinical MRI I & II is to finalize the understanding of procedural and physics content, while also having an opportunity to experience day-to-day operations of an MRI department and perform MR exams. Patient positioning, proper coil selection, slice prescription and sectional anatomy related to the extremities, thorax, abdomen, and pelvis will be defined. In a lab, you will have hands-on experience with scanning MR exams learned in the classroom. Magnetic resonance angiography and venography, contrast bolus techniques, functional MR, spectroscopy, cardiac MR, post-processing, imaging options and quality control procedures will be reviewed. The emerging trends in the field of advanced MR procedures will also be discussed. This course will also provide you an instructional review as preparation for the certification exam in magnetic resonance imaging as outlined in the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist examination content specifications.
