CHEM 340 - Organic Chemistry Survey CHEM 340 - Organic Chemistry Survey (4 credits) A survey of the chemistry of organic compounds with emphasis on structure, properties, synthesis, and reactions of the major functional group families. Mechanisms of major reaction types are explored. Laboratory emphasizes separation techniques and synthesis. Not open to students who expect to take CHEM 350 - Principles of Organic Chemistry I .
