ETHN 220 - Introduction to Asian American Studies ETHN 220 - Introduction to Asian American Studies (3 credits) This course is an introduction to recent experiences, political, social and cultural formations of Asian Americans. The course explores the emergence and significance of “Asian American” as an identity formation, a racialized category, and a diverse set of ethnic experiences. The courses will use academic and journalistic writing and films about Asian American cultural, social and political experiences. Students will also focus on contemporary beliefs about racial, cultural (based more broadly on race, gender, sexuality, region, class) and national identity for Asian Americans.
