HERS 320 - Health Education Methods 1: Functional Health Knowledge HERS 320 - Health Education Methods 1: Functional Health Knowledge (3 credits) Students will demonstrate competency in functional health knowledge of the following health education topics: use of alcohol, drugs, and tobacco; healthy eating; mental and emotional health, personal health and wellness; physical activity; safety; sexual health; and violence prevention. Students must be able to describe applicable local, state, and national statistics related to these topics. Students must be able to describe state and federal laws and policies that address these health and education topics. Students will demonstrate competency in planning, instruction, and assessment of PK-12 health education curriculum related to these topics. once a year. Grade only. alternate semesters.
