PESS 425 - Planning, Instructing, and Assessing for Learning and Meaningfulness in Elementary Physical Education Part II PESS 425 - Planning, Instructing, and Assessing for Learning and Meaningfulness in Elementary Physical Education Part II (3 credits) This course analyzes and applies the protocols and routines that would foster an elementary physical education community where all students feel safe to engage fully, examines elementary students’ behaviors within a physical education environment, researches brain-aligned, preventative, and relational approaches, and investigates the use of technology to promote learning and meaningfulness in elementary physical education. Preservice teachers will assess the impact of their well-being on student learning and teacher resilience. Throughout this course, students will engage in an ongoing cycle of gathering and analyzing information, using this information to plan progressive, sequential lessons, implementing these plans in an elementary physical education setting, collecting data from the implementation, and reflecting on and using the data to determine the next steps. This course includes an intensive field experience. Grade only. annually (usually fall semester). Course Registration
