RTTR 339 - Wilderness Ethics, Safety, and Survival RTTR 339 - Wilderness Ethics, Safety, and Survival (3 credits) Meets GOAL 9 and GOAL 10. Students will analyze the ecological and socio-cultural values of wilderness as they intersect with land management, environmental practices, and back country travel. Both in-classroom and outdoor activities will provide students with a deeper inquiry into pre-trip planning, preparation, and the management of incidents, injuries/illnesses, and issues of back country excursions. In addition to the psychological aspect of both individual and group survival, hands-on skill building in tool craft, fire building, rope use, and other bushcraft skills will be included.
