SOC 320 - Drugs and Society SOC 320 - Drugs and Society (3 Credits) This course initially provides background knowledge pertaining to the neuropsychological and historical dimensions of drug use, and subsequently focuses on sociological questions pertaining to drug use in the U.S. We examine current and historical research pertaining to various drugs and “families of drugs,” their effects, risks, therapeutic potential, if any, as well as the cultural, historical, and economic implications of their use.
