SOC 341 - Sociology of Culture SOC 341 - Sociology of Culture (3 credits) This course examines the sociology of culture and cultural sociology. It focuses on the widely shared values, beliefs, logics of action, and practices that create patterns in the social world; it examines how culture is formed and how culture influences other social processes. Culture permeates most sociological inquiries in areas such as stratification, race and ethnicity, and gender and sexuality. This course take a deeper dive into this concept, and it will primarily explore contemporary qualitative and theoretical studies of culture. Grade only. occasionally. Course Registration
