SPAN 475 - Introduction to Spanish Translation SPAN 475 - Introduction to Spanish Translation (4 credits) This course is an introduction to translation theory, principles, and methodologies (Spanish to English, English to Spanish). Students analyze and translate texts from diverse genres (literary, medical, political, commercial, etc.) while reflecting on how rhetorical styles differ across languages and cultures. Students analyze advanced grammatical structures in Spanish and critically reflect on the representation of sociolinguistic variation from one language to another. Grade only. alternate years (usually fall semester). Course Registration
