SPED 300 - Children and Youth with Exceptionalities SPED 300 - Children and Youth with Exceptionalities (3 credits) Meets GOAL 7. This course is an overview of exceptionalities including disabilities and giftedness. Historical and legal foundations, philosophical and ethical perspectives, causes, characteristics, implications for individuals and their families, strategies, and services are included. An early clinical experience at the Kids First after-school program is required for this course. It involves working a 2-hour weekly shift at Maplewood Townhomes. Open to all majors.
