SPED 471 - Secondary Assessment and Intervention SPED 471 - Secondary Assessment and Intervention (3 credits) This course provides an in-depth study of assessment, instructional planning, program design, and intervention strategies for secondary students with a range of disabilities. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of assessment tools, behavior management, and instructional approaches to support diverse learning needs. Students will gain skills in designing instructional plans, developing behavior intervention plans, selecting appropriate materials, incorporating assistive technology, and addressing medical and contextual considerations. The course also highlights classroom management strategies and case management practices that promote student success in both general and special education settings.
