WGSS 374 - Queer and Trans Liberation Theories and Politics WGSS 374 - Queer and Trans Liberation Theories and Politics (3 credits) Meets GOAL 6 (Humanities) and GOAL 7. This course serves as an introduction to the methodological and theoretical interventions in dominant ideologies surrounding gender and sexuality; for instance, theories examining queer abolitionist practices, queer of color critique, and decolonizing gender. The readings will offer critiques of the ways in which gender and sexuality are constructed and policed, and provide a framework for deconstructing the binaries of hetero/homo and masculinity/femininity.
