This course, which covers the major developments in the history of American education, offers a comprehensive overview of the historical, philosophical, sociological, political and legal foundations of education. Emphasis is placed on the structure and organization of schools, roles of classroom teachers, influences on teaching and learning, diversity, and contemporary educational policy and issues.
