ENG214 — Introduction to Ancient World Literature
This course offers an introduction to world literature from antiquity through the mid-16th century, including oral traditions, poetry, fiction and nonfiction. Students analyze and respond critically to texts through class discussion, literary reflections, a formal essay and an oral presentation. By applying literary terms and orienting disparate works within their biographical and historical milieus, students discover the range of human experience and commonality of the human spirit.
