3 Credit(s) This course expands the use of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnostic and CPT-4 procedural coding. Students’ medical coding skills advance from the basic outpatient medical records to the more complex inpatient hospital records. Emphasis is placed on the use of appropriate coding guidelines and the application of coding skills to meet compliance requirements related to the insurance component of the revenue cycle. Prerequisite(s): MBC 100 , MBC 110 , MBC 125 (or) MAS 153 , MAS 125 , MAS 151 Pre/Corequisite(s): HIT 100 , HIT 145 , HIT 150 , and MATH 210
