HIT235 — Intermediate Medical Coding
3 Credit(s) This course expands the use of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnostic and CPT-4 procedural coding. Students’ medical coding skills advance from the basic outpatient medical records to the more complex inpatient hospital records. Emphasis is placed on the use of appropriate coding guidelines and the application of coding skills to meet compliance requirements related to the insurance component of the revenue cycle.
