4 Credit(s) This course is designed to provide key concepts and practices essential to the practical aspect of surgical technology. The principles of professionalism and ethical behavior expected in a surgical environment is practiced. Student explore technological science concepts related to electricity and laser that are applied to modern surgical procedures. The course focuses on the importance of a sterile environment and the application of aseptic technique. The lab provides the opportunity to prepare and assist for perioperative care management throughout the surgical process. Students will gain hands-on experiences that enable the development of critical thinking and technical skills necessary to excel in the surgical technology profession.
