CHM 104 — Chemistry for Health Sciences
/3 contact hours This one–semester introductory course presents an overview of general chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry. Basic information on atoms, elements, compounds, states of matter, and chemical reactions is studied, with an emphasis on organic macromolecules (carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and nucleic acids) that are crucial for life. The role of water, acids, and bases is explored. This course is geared toward students in allied health fields. Prerequisite(s): None Core fulfilled: IV
