/3 contact hours This one–semester introductory course presents an overview of general chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry. Basic information on atoms, elements, compounds, states of matter, and chemical reactions is studied, with an emphasis on organic macromolecules (carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and nucleic acids) that are crucial for life.
