CIS 254 — Computer Organization

/3 contact hours This course covers the basic hardware, software, and architecture of computer systems. Topics include digital logic circuits, data representation, central processors, primary and secondary memory, and input and output devices. Throughout the course, students will use a mixture of machine and assembly language to interact with the various computer components and implement simple programs using a low–level programming language. The course also provides an overview of parallel computing architecture. Prerequisite(s): CIS 152 and MAT 127 Core fulfilled: None
