EDU 224 — Children’s Literature

/3 contact hours This course examines how to evaluate and select quality children’s literature for use in enriching and enhancing student learning across the elementary curriculum. Students will explore fiction and nonfiction texts in all the major literary genres. The various ways children’s literature can be used to support and deepen engagement with literacy, science, and math instruction in the elementary classroom will be explored. Strategies for teaching children’s literature and developing an understanding of the value of reading will be covered. Core fulfilled: None
