LEG 280 — Legal Studies Capstone
/3 contact hours The Legal Studies Capstone course is designed to enhance the student’s total academic experience by a comprehensive review of the most significant components of the program. Designed for students in the final semester of Legal Studies, this course will provide students the opportunity to develop a portfolio of legal documents and writing samples. Students will participate in mock paralegal work exercises including document production, client interviews, as well as research and analysis. Resume creation, mock employment interviews, and information on local, State, and regional job opportunities will be reviewed. This course will enable students to compile professional quality work product demonstrating the legal knowledge, technical skill, and administrative ability necessary for entry-level employment as a paralegal or legal assistant. Prerequisite(s): CJS 125, Legal Studies major with at least 45 earned credits. Co-rerequisite(s): LEG 203 Core fulfilled: None
