LEG 290 — Legal Studies Internship

/3 contact hours The Legal Studies Internship course is designed to enhance the student’s total academic experience through a period of observation, study, and participation while working at a law firm, business, government agency, or other law-related organization. Students benefit greatly from the opportunity to work with practitioners in the field and gain experience performing paralegal duties. This internship provides students with the challenge to apply concepts and principles learned in the classroom, to network with professionals in the legal community, and to learn from on-the-job exposure to the realities of paralegal work. Prerequisite(s): Legal Studies majors with at least 30 credits and a GPA of 3.0 in the Legal Studies program, and permission of the department chair and his/her designee. course descriptions Core fulfilled: None
