MAT 216 — Math for Education II (Algebra)
/3 contact hours The second course in mathematics recommended by the Committee on the Undergraduates Mathematics Program of the Mathematical Association of America for prospective primary and elementary teachers. Emphasis is upon the properties of operations in several different algebraic systems. Equations are studied in finite systems as well as in conventional algebra. This course focuses on topics that highlight the algebraic structures of number systems (e.g. decimals, fractions, integers) that were examined in MAT 116. Core fulfilled: None
