PSY 220 — Health Psychology
/3 contact hours Students will be introduced to the importance of the mind and body interaction and how psychological functioning and medical conditions impact each other. Topics covered will include depression, stress, disease–prone and disease–resistant personalities, and psychoneuroimmunology. Also covered will be the use of psychological techniques to improve behaviors for wellness including sleep, nutrition, and social support. Such methods of treatment will include cognitive therapy, relaxation, meditation and behavioral goal setting. Prerequisite(s): PSY 101 Core fulfilled: III course descriptions
