PLA268 — Legal Research
(3 credits) Students will learn to use and locate primary and secondary authorities. The course will include a general overview of the federal and state court systems. Students will learn the elements of a court decision, how to locate cases, how to brief a case, case citation form, cite checking and methods of compiling legislative histories. This course will provide students with in-depth techniques and skills for legal research that are essential to paralegals to thrive within a legal environment.
