60 hours This course prepares students for employment as an Administrative Assistant and/ or Office Support Staff. This course includes Computer Literacy and more advanced instruction in the Microsoft Office Suites (word document, Excel, PowerPoint). Students will increase understanding of computer terminology, applications and programs used in Businesses. Students will practice techniques, business communication skills and Microsoft tools. This course prepares students for employment as Administrative Assistants or Office Support Staff across a range of industries. Students will develop essential workplace competencies through training in professional office procedures, customer service, and business communication skills. Core components of the course include: Computer Literacy: Introduction to basic computer functions, hardware, software, and internet navigation. Microsoft Office Suite: In-depth instruction in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with a focus on creating professional documents, managing spreadsheets and data, and designing effective presentations. Business Communication: Emphasis on written and verbal communication, email etiquette, and telephone skills in a professional setting. Office Procedures: Training in scheduling, filing systems, records management, and time management.
