ENGL221 — Intro to Creative Writing

This introductory course explores the creative process and craft techniques in writing fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. The course will encourage students to explore and develop their own creative visions. It will focus on generating ideas, creating new work, developing drafts, and experimenting with different styles and forms. Through a workshop format that includes writing prompts, readings, and group discussions, students will produce a final portfolio of original creative writing. Students will also be introduced to publishing possibilities and protocols.
