ENGL223 — Poetry Writing Workshop

3 credits · 3 hours

Students will explore their poetic visions over the semester in a supportive community of writers. Building upon the foundations studied in English 221, students will deepen their understanding of the finer elements of poetic craft. Published authors will be read and discussed as models to inspire student work. Students will compose and revise original poetry and receive feedback via peer reviews and from their professor. The semester will culminate in a final portfolio of revised work that demonstrates the student's growth over the semester. (Prerequisite: Creative Writing ENG221 or permission of instructor)
