Description Sociology is the study of society, the social construction of reality and social interaction. Emphasis is placed on how social structure creates inequality based on group membership, such as ethnicity, class and gender. The development and transformation of societies are explored, focusing on social forces such as social conflict, collective behavior, social movements, and organizational and institutional influences. This Associate Degree for Transfer is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in a similar major at a CSU campus.
