Electromechanical Technology
The Electromechanical Technology Certificate provides students with the fundamental skills for career paths in the maintenance trade, using the fundamentals of mechanical drives including: belts, chain, gear dives, as well as rigging. Students will be introduced to pneumatic machine operation and functions, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and the programming of electrical and mechanical equipment such as AC motor control. Students form a foundation in workplace electrical and tool safety, electrical theory, as well as fundamental hands-on practices with electrical pneumatic / hydraulic circuits, blueprint reading, the ability to understand pneumatic / hydraulic systems, as well as basic PLC programming of control system logic. This course develops awareness of maintenance processes, inspections and repairs.
