CIS 123 — Spreadsheet Tools and Analysis

This course introduces spreadsheet software for general office and professional use. Students learn spreadsheet navigation, data entry, formatting, and printing, as well as the use of formulas and functions for calculations and data analysis. Topics include organizing and visualizing data with sorting, filtering, charts, and graphs; performing trend, regression, and what-if analyses; and using PivotTables and business intelligence tools. Students also learn to create templates, protect worksheets, customize the software environment, and develop original spreadsheets that meet specified analytical and presentation requirements. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.
