EQUS 230 — Introduction to Horseshoeing

This course covers the basic principles of horseshoeing. Students will learn the anatomy of the front and hind leg and hooves and learn to identify structural and mechanical deformities, blemishes and occurrences of lameness. This course will also cover the proper use of horseshoeing tools, and how to trim and balance the equine hoof.
