NET 110 — Network Communications
This course is designed to provide students with a foundation in current networking technologies, standards, and specifications as it relates to the Open Systems Interconnection Model, (OSI Model). Students will be introduced to networking terminology, hardware, software, topologies, and protocols, as well as best practices for local area network (LAN), management, configuration, and troubleshooting. Also included in this course is an introduction to wide area network, (WAN) specifications, TCP/IP addressing and subnetting, wireless networking standards, network switch and router management, common networking and security policies and procedures, and the network troubleshooting methodology. The content taught in this course helps students prepare for the current CompTIA Network + certification exam.
