The Social Justice Studies degree is an interdisciplinary degree that combines approaches from political science, sociology, history, literature, and popular culture to understand the struggles and experiences of marginalized groups. This program of study engages students in examining the how intersections, such as gender, race, class, ethnicity, and nationality, inform experiences with racism, sexism, classism, environmental injustice, and other forms of inequality within society. This degree emphasizes understanding the different ways power and privilege work in our society in order to create a better world.
