EDCI 595 — Student Teaching: 1-6 Credits (1-6 Lab)

(F, Sp) MAT secondary student teaching ( EDCI 595 ) is a full time 14-week unpaid teaching experience that takes place in a classroom setting. Successful student teaching is required for initial teacher licensure. It is a university supervised instructional experience. The teacher candidate shadows a mentor or cooperating teacher. A field supervisor is assigned by the university to act as a liaison between the university and the cooperating teacher. The teacher candidate’s teaching performance is evaluated by the cooperating teacher and the field supervisor. Repeatable up to 9 credits.
