EDU 438 — Literacy Assessment, Diagnosis and Instruction: 3 Credits (2 Lec, 1 Lab)

(F, Sp) Completion of a criminal background check required. Current theory and techniques in literacy assessment and individualized and/or small group interventions. Emphasis will be on specific instructional strategies that focus on independence, phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension in reading and writing. A practicum is included
