MUS 103 — Music Theory I

is the study of the basic principles of chordal structure and progression including four-part writing of diatonic harmony; sight-singing, dictation, and keyboard exercises; rhythmic drills with basic conducting patterns; and a study of elementary music forms. Course includes 45 hours of lecture and 30 hours of lab per semester. Usually offered in fall semester.
