CARD 221 — Diagnostic and Interventional Procedures
The purpose of this course is to prepare students for the clinical environment. Through lecture and lab sessions, students will demonstrate the ability to select, prepare and utilize specialized equipment for cardiovascular procedures as well as prepare a patient for a cardiac catheterization procedure. Students will perform in the cardiovascular skills lab completing sterile scrub, gowning and gloving, patient preparation, percutaneous access, catheter insertion and exchanges, contrast injection and intervention skills.
