Students will develop a solid understanding of how the United States Constitution and its ongoing interpretation has shaped the homeland security landscape. Students will apply ethical theories and knowledge of the Constitution to analyze significant national security problems and their changing nature in the 21st century, discussing relevant court vases as appropriate. Students will study the role of intelligence professionals and federal, state, and local law enforcement authorities in upholding constitutional law while preventing and disrupting terrorism. Prerequisite: ENG 1510, CRI 1510. J fall; C spring.
