Students will examine the developmental stages of young children including their physical, intellectual, and social-emotional capabilities, emphasizing the wide variation in abilities and behaviors in children. The basic concepts of developmental characteristics of children from birth through eight years of age are to be understood as a foundation for planning appropriate activities for children and establishing appropriate expectations of young children. Eligibility: ENG 1510 without supports or Corequisite: ENG 1510 with supports. J occasionally; C occasionally.
