PSY2710 — Consciousness Psychology

This course will investigate the phenomenon of consciousness through the study of conscious experiences and different states of awareness. Students will examine consciousness research in the areas of neuroscience, sensory perception, sleep and dreaming, hallucinogenic and entheogenic drug experiences, mental health therapies, meditation, ritual, peak experiences, and more. Students will explore these concepts through class discussions, activities, and projects. Students will also develop an understanding of cultural diversity as it relates to individuals' experiences across different states of consciousness. Prerequisite: ENG 1510. J occasionally.
